How much does external rendering cost in Dublin?+
Full-house external render is priced per m² after a survey. Cost depends on the system (monocouche vs silicone vs sand-and-cement), substrate condition, scaffolding access and any pre-repair work needed.
How long does external rendering take?+
A full house re-render typically takes 1–3 weeks depending on size, weather, whether a base coat and mesh are needed, and drying times between coats.
What's the difference between monocouche, silicone and acrylic render?+
Monocouche (e.g. Weber) is a through-coloured one-coat system, robust and low-maintenance. Silicone renders are breathable, self-cleaning and hold colour well — popular for EWI finish coats. Acrylic renders are flexible and colour-rich but less breathable than silicone. We'll recommend based on substrate and exposure.
Can render be applied over pebble dash?+
Often yes, using a base coat and mesh system if the pebble dash is sound. If it's loose or blown, we cut it back first. This is a common Dublin façade upgrade.
Do I need scaffolding?+
Yes — proper scaffolding is required for full-house rendering to work safely and get a consistent finish. Scaffold hire is included in the quote.
Is external render weatherproof?+
Modern render systems are weather-resistant and, when detailed properly at windows, corners and plinths, protect the wall well. Silicone finishes also shed water and dirt, which keeps the façade cleaner for longer.
Do you paint the render or is it self-coloured?+
Monocouche and silicone/acrylic thin-coat systems are through-coloured — no painting needed. Sand-and-cement render is typically painted with a masonry paint after curing.
Can you match my neighbour's render colour?+
In most cases yes. We can pull matching colour codes from Parex/Baumit/Weber colour cards, or colour-match on site.
